Harbour Bar
About This Spot
Harbour Bar gently unfolds itself along the waterfront of Gourdon, offering a quietly cherished escape just steps from the sea. There’s a simple, unhurried rhythm here, where the salty breeze mingles with the warmth of friendly voices and the occasional clink of glasses. Whether you settle at a sunny outdoor table or nestle inside the cozy, community-centred interior, the pace encourages you to slow down and take in the subtle pleasures of this harbour-side retreat.
The bar’s atmosphere feels like a lived-in shared space — a point where locals and visitors meet under one roof, exchanging stories over pints and comforting plates. It’s the kind of place where familiar faces are greeted by name, yet newcomers are welcomed with genuine warmth. Sunlight catching on the waves just outside provides a quietly scenic backdrop to a space that hums with easy conversation and the soft shuffle of well-loved gatherings.
At the heart of Harbour Bar’s allure is its food — unpretentious yet thoughtfully prepared, capturing something of the rugged coastline beyond the door. The menu carries a confident nod to local flavours, perfect alongside a carefully chosen selection of cask ales or a crisp glass of cider. It’s in the crunch of a freshly fried fish and chips dish, the satisfying heft of a sharing burger, or the comforting familiarity of a fish finger roll that you find both nourishment and a touch of local character. This is food that invites you to sit back, linger, and watch the tide change, accompanied by simple, honest pleasures.
Harbour Bar stands as a quiet hub for the village, a place that wears its roots lightly but with clear pride. It’s where a casual meal feels like part of a shared moment, and where the sea’s presence gently infuses both the air and the hospitality. For anyone passing through or staying a while, it offers a chance to connect — to feel the pulse of a coastal village and to savour a genuine, human experience by the water’s edge.

The best food I had in my week in Scotland. Very crisp and tasty and hot. The waitress was gorgeous and very kind, and very helpful when my brain malfunctioned after a long day of driving. Sitting outside in the sun, reading, watching the sea. Perfect spot!! Definitely recommend!

Fish and Chips here is absolutely fantastic. Great sized portions and all reasonably priced. A great selection of drinks and nice coffee.

This pub is a real hub of the village, providing a post office, meals, quiz night etc. There is clearly a close community with the staff knowing many of the customers, but it is also very welcoming to the tourists (like ourselves.) The food is great pub grub, with obviously a good seafood selection, given the location. Can thoroughly recommend the Cullen skink, Highland burgers and scampi. Good selection of local beers too. Indoor tables, dart board, big screen tvs. Lots of outdoor seating, some of it undercover, a great place from which to watch wild seas.

Reasonably priced food and service. Outside seating available. Senior discounts on certain days. Annoyingly, there are always flies at the inside dining tables and nothing in control to minimise the persistance of them. Not surprising, given that it's at a harbour, however, very off-putting.

Great pub! Some cask options, had the Loch Lomond stick, tasty. Food was good too - very reasonable, tenner for the fish burger with chips. Outside seating too for the sunny days.

Fine wee bar with a lovely cosy feel. There is a great beer garden overlooking the harbour. The food was great, good traditional pub grub. Good service from the staff. Excellent wee gem, would recommend.
